Counselor for Last Names A-E

Born and raised in Morton, Mr. Travis Grant is no stranger to what it means to be a Potter. After graduating from MHS, Mr. Grant earned his BA in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa and his MA in Professional School Counseling from Bradley University. In addition, he has worked as an educator and a high school coach over the past eight years. Mr. Grant is thrilled to return to his alma mater and excited about the opportunity to work with students and families as a school counselor.

Mrs. Christina Kienitz grew up in Lubbock, Texas and Michigan City, Indiana.  She attended Ball State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education.  During thirteen years as a Social Studies teacher at Pekin Community High School, Mrs. Kienitz also completed a Master of Science at ISU in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Science in School Counseling at Bradley.  Mrs. Kienitz was a school counselor at PCHS for two years before becoming a school counselor at MHS in 2016.  Mrs. Kienitz is thrilled to be a part of the greater Morton Community and to collaboratively serve the students and families of MHS!

Mr. Chase Bushman graduated from Morton High School in 2007 and then went to the University of Illinois where he graduated in 2011 with a degree in History and Secondary Education. Most recently, Chase graduated from Bradley University in 2018 with a Master of Arts Degree in Professional School Counseling. For the past eight years he has worked at Pekin Community High School as a Social Studies teacher (seven years) and School Counselor (one year).  Mr. Bushman is excited to return to my home district this coming year and look forward to being a Potter once again!

Mrs. Taylor King grew up in Pekin, Illinois and attended Pekin Community High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. She continued her education at Bradley University, receiving a Master of Arts in School Counseling. Mrs. King is passionate about serving the adolescent population and is thankful for the wonderful opportunity to work as a counselor at Morton High School!
