Mr. Gourley began his Morton High School career at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. Prior to MHS, he served as the Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction for five years at Urbana High School. Before that, he served nine years as the Assistant Principal at Normal Community High School. Mr. Gourley taught in the social studies department at Normal Community for eight years before serving as an administrator.

 

Mr. Gourley’s educational career began with a B.S. in History Education from Southern Illinois University in 1994. He then received an M.S. in Education from Illinois State University in 2003. He also received a Post Master’s Certificate from Illinois State University in 2011. Mr. Gourley also holds his Superintendent Endorsement in Educational Administration.

 

Mr. Gourley is married to Shauna, who is a reading specialist for the Unit 5 School District. They have two children in college - a daughter at Missouri State and a son at the University of Louisville.

 

Mr. Gourley is excited to serve as the Principal of Morton High School and looks to continue the proud tradition of providing exceptional educational and extra-curricular opportunities for the students and families of the Morton community.
